Create a Post: Steps

Step #1

Obtain materials/tools

25 lbs of gravel
4" x 4" x 8' post
(2) No mix quick setting concrete bags
Metal sign (image below steps)
(2) Screws
(4) String hook lights with screws
(4) Plastic beach totes
(4) Lugage tags
Post hole digger
Shovel
Post level
Screw driver

Step #2

Prepare by obtaining permission from the owner of the property. For State Parks in Michigan call the park's office during their open hours. Confirm permission and location of structure. Once location is confirmed write location on luggage tag and place on all bags.

Step #3

Using post hole digger make a hole three feet deep and a foot across. When posting a post ensure you go to the frost depth in your area, for Michigan beaches it's three feet.

Step #4

Pour gravel on hole, place in post approximately level, pour in concrete powder around, level post, cover with water according to bag, and let rest for twenty-forty minutes.

Step #5

Screw on signage at the top of the post and screw in hooks where you would like the baskets for hang.
